Wisdom 2.0 is a conference for people who are likeminded and like hearted, focusing their time and energy on discovering how wisdom plays a key role in all areas of our lives—from technology to health to relationships to communication to money and investments and companies.
The conference is about joining together in that community, bringing experts in to share with us how they’re using their own life force in a way that they feel is purpose driven and meaningful. They also apply their life force in ways that are wise, efficient, valuable, and enhancing to the lives of others in some way.
I attended this year, and I’d like to share my experience with you. Namely, the incredible talks of Ariana Huffington, Tony Hseish, and Ekhart Tolle.
Ariana Huffington at Wisdom 2.0
One of my favorite keynote speakers at the Wisdom 2.0 conference this year was Ariana Huffington. She shared her own personal story and some challenges she had in her life with family members and daughter.
While the experience was a challenging, almost crisis situation, it was the perfect wakeup call to make her realize she had to live a life that was
1) healthier
2) more meaningful
3) and service-oriented
Her story was very emotional and inspirational, and she was just so real. She was so present with all of us. After her talk she spent some time meeting with people for nearly an hour and just having personal, one-on-one conversations. Really touching.
Tony Hseish at Wisdom 2.0
Another speaker who was really extraordinary was Tony Hseish. He shared his vision and the incredible story of what he’s doing to restore a vibrant, innovative technology and increased workforce in jobs in downtown Las Vegas. It’s pretty remarkable for someone to choose Las Vegas as the place to carry out that vision. If you can do that in Las Vegas, you can probably do it anywhere in the country.
Tony’s emphasis was on how we collide or connect with each other and where those points of connection are. He wants to deepen and enhance those and inspire more connection to occur. He’s done a remarkable job of this in Las Vegas. One example is a container shipping yard that he helped to transform into a vibrant community of offices, restaurants, and a kid-friendly park.
Now instead of the unused, old wasted storage yard, it’s a place where people come to eat and socialize, have meetings, and play with their kids.
Ekhart Tolle at Wisdom 2.0
Ekhart Tolle was another speaker there who I was deeply touched by. I saw him speak about 10 or more years ago, and he wasn’t really well known at that time.
But he was so calm, so present, and so deliberate in his speech and his actions, even the way he walked.
Over the last decade or so he has achieved incredibly notoriety and success from his books, CDs, and talks. At Wisdom 2.0, he spoke with the same deliberateness and presence. He was completely unaffected by his success financially, his celebrity status, and his achievement as a renowned author. To this day he is walking his talk with such incredible integrity and authenticity.
Give me a little summary wrap up here for you of inside of what you kind of feel you walked away from this conference, this experience with. Is it an excitement of moving forward? Is there a sense of collaboration in a community? What would be your sort of biggest experience that you’re walking away from this with?
What the Mindfull Community Takes Away from Wisdom 2.0
It was so inspiring to see the quality of people who were there from the scientific community to the business community to the wisdom mindfulness community. It was such a diverse group. I felt that the people there were very active in living these wise present moments of integrating wisdom into their daily life and truly wanting to do more of it—wanting to connect with others that are part of this community.
It made me really excited about how we can deepen our connections and our relationships in ways that we can work together in this area of wisdom and mindfulness.
